Emily and Frank at NTC Promenade

The McMillin event center at NTC Promenade sets the background for this fall wedding with a western touch. Each placesetting was graced with a horseshoe for luck and the walls were highlighted with a custom gobo featuring the bride and groom’s names. The main feature of the room were the beautiful centerpieces, designed and assembled by the mother of the bride.

Michelle and Mike at MoPA

The Museum of Photographic Arts sets a simple contemporary background for this wedding with an organic feel. My favorite part – the olivino lamour napkins provided a nice pop for the tables, as well as a little shine.

Shelia and Edwin at the El Cortez

Starting with chic lounge furniture and cigars on the patio for cocktail hour all the way to a gourmet dessert bar at the end of the night, safe to say Shelia and Edwin’s guests got everything they could hope for and more. Adding a coffee bar for their guests to have made-to-order lattes and esspresso, and a candy bar, there were a lot of special touches.

Rachel and Tyler at Mt. Woodson

While I only have a few great images of this event, I just had to share. A fully draped white tent at Mt. Woodson with spring colors of buttercream and white was the background for a dream wedding. Little birds nests at each place setting mimicked the garden feel of the Mt. Woodson grounds.

Abigail and Avi at the Powerhouse

Take a look at this beautiful beachside ceremony and reception at the Powerhouse located in Del Mar. The featured signature drinks at the bar were a delicious Pomegranate Martini and refreshing Mojito – perfect for an end-of-summer reception overlooking the ocean.

Allison and John at Bernardo Winery

Fall in love with this Autumn reception at Bernardo Winery. Chocolate linens and fall flowers accented all of the tables. A custom buffet with a colorful Tomato Tortellini and Prosciutto wrapped Chicken Breast pleased everyone’s palates. Guests enjoyed Bernardo Winery’s signature wines in the bar, and each dining table was named after the Bride and Groom’s favorite wines.

Melanie and Shawn at The Darlington House

The Darlington House is a historic site in La Jolla, California. The back patio area is sectioned off so guests can enjoy different areas throughout the reception. Melanie and Shawn had a touching ceremony in the Egyptian Patio before moving into the Rose Garden for a reception featuring a dual entree seated dinner.

Dana and Santiago at Ocean View Villas

Welcome to the first post on the Personal Touch Dining Blog! Here we will feature the many weddings and receptions we have the pleasure of conducting throughout the year.

For our first feature, a romantic seaside wedding:

After a ceremony overlooking the ocean, guests mingled around the property enjoying tray passed hors d’ oeuvres including baked brie with apricot sauce and ahi poke on a wonton crisp. They sat down to a sunset dinner of Filet Mignon and Macadamia Nut crusted Mahi Mahi before champagne toasting and dancing.
