With its elegant historic charm and spacious entertainment areas, it’s completely won our hearts!

 

Chris Erikson, the Venue Manager of The Thursday Club, is always eager to help and has years of experience managing this venue,

making him a knowledgable and priceless asset to event planning here.

Known for the beautiful ambiance and stunning views, this location is a jewel in the hills of Sunset Cliffs area out in Point Loma.

 

When not in use entertaining events, the venue is a clubhouse for members of The Thursday Club,

a philanthropic organization dedicated to giving back to San Diego.

 

According to The Thursday Club’s official website, “The Thursday Club was formed in 1921 when four young women proposed the beginnings of a club that would combine social activities with worthwhile civic and benevolent projects.”

In carrying on with the tradition and founding members’ vision, “The Thursday Club continues to participate in fundraising activities as well as service projects, both large and small. Certainly the most well-known is the Annual Rummage Sale held in Balboa Park every spring…”

Offering half of the proceeds from this rummage sale to several different organizations within Balboa Park, the rest are granted to San Diego community philanthropies!

Recently, The Thursday Club hosted its first Event Open House!

Organized by Chris from The Thursday Club and the fabulous Courtney from Breezy Day Weddings and Florals,

the event was captured by Katherine Beth Photography.

We offered small plates of our Argentinian Grilled Flank Steak with Chimichurri, Grilled Zucchini, and Whipped Purple Peruvian Potatoes.

We so appreciated collaborating with such talented vendors and had a blast meeting with all the excited couples interested in our food!

Since first making the preferred vendor list in 1998,

we have made countless wonderful lasting memories and friendships with The Thursday Club

and look forward to many more years of collaboration ahead!

Rachel and Mike at San Diego Rowing Club

It’s summer time, so you know what the means? It’s time to show off those summer beauty weddings like this one from the SD Rowing Club! This seaside eye pleaser certainly did not fail in all of those photo ops. We especially loved the beach-filled elegant details that R + M put into their big day. Seashell displays on centerpieces, and a seashell cake topper hit the spot! A paddle for their guest book and that buffet set up could have not been any more perfect for a sunshine summer vibe. We can’t forget their ceremony and the gorgeous San Diego ocean view displayed as their backdrop throughout the night.

Oh darling, we absolutely LOVE catering to this venue. From the ceremony space to the reception, the natural charm, and of course the close proximity to the beach, Darlington House has it all! J + N’s big day definitely had beauty written all over it. With the popular garland runner look on tables, a fountain ceremony, and that soft color palette, everything complimented together so perfectly!

When you want best of both worlds for a wedding in San Diego, it would look like R + K’s day. From a ceremony at an ocean breeze of a San Diego beach, to a reception with endless views of the city’s breathtaking skyscrapers and the Padre’s baseball field, ABM Photography captures every factor perfectly.

With family and friends gathered to witness the couple’s vows on a sunny San Diego day under an elegant white draped arch, their reception was kept simple with floating floral candle centerpieces, and a hint of deep colors to surround the bouquets and the venue.

Marcela & David at La Jolla Woman’s Club

Thank you, Tim Otto Photography, for capturing this beautiful wedding for M + D! They were joined together by family and friends for a lovely church ceremony as the day ventured over to La Jolla’s Women Club for endless amounts of laughs, dancing, and overall happiness.  Decadent food, enchanting floral, and a theme of rustic mixed with seaside elegance made for a perfect detailed day.

Ashley & Brad at Coronado Community Center

Ashley and Brad had such a beautiful ceremony and reception at the Coronado Community Center. They got married in front of a pretty bamboo arch with ivory draping on the lawn facing the bay. Inside the reception area, dining tables were covered in gorgeous ivory linens with gold napkins, plus a mini bottle of olive oil from the bride and groom at each place setting. The gold table numbers matched the napkins and looked perfect next to centerpieces of gorgeous cream, pink and peach flowers.

It was a beautiful day for a beautiful couple at Coronado Community! Bright and eccentric colors filled T & K’s wedding with luscious blooms by Sugar Rose Flowers. With a pop of blue, and a simple yet elegant feel, made for an alluring sweet heart table thanks to To Be Designed. Rachel & Phillip at La Jolla Woman’s Club

Rachel and Phillip got married at Cuvier Park, followed by a beautiful reception at the La Jolla Woman’s Club. Bridesmaids wore long navy dresses and carried cute bouquets of pastel flowers and succulents. They chose white linens with dark fruitwood chairs and even placed a menu at each place setting tucked in the navy napkins. Their reception featured an awesome band and a fun photo booth for all the guests.

Sara & Brad at the San Diego Rowing Club

We are so in love with these wedding photos from Sara and Brad’s wedding! They got married at the San Diego Rowing Club with a beautiful beach ceremony and outdoor reception. Our favorite details include the seafoam color of the bridesmaid’s dresses and their peach bouquets mixed with succulents.

Kirstyn & Henry at La Jolla Woman’s Club

We love these photos from another beautiful La Jolla Woman’s Club wedding. Kirstyn and Henry’s guests loved the donut bar that they had for dessert! They also had the most adorable place cards. Instead of using traditional place cards, they tied their guests’ names and table numbers to a little treat and had them find their seats that way. The theme of this wedding was elegant but beachy and we loved this vibe!
