We Love The Thursday Club!

With its elegant historic charm and spacious entertainment areas, it’s completely won our hearts!

Chris Eri kson, the Venue Manager of The Thursday Club, is always eager to help and has years of experience managing this venue,

making him a knowledgable and priceless asset to event planning here.

Known for the beautiful ambiance and stunning views, this location is a jewel in the hills of Sunset Cliffs area out in Point Loma.

When not in use entertaining events, the venue is a clubhouse for members of The Thursday Club,

a philanthropic organization dedicated to giving back to San Diego.

According to The Thursday Club’s official website, “The Thursday Club was formed in 1921 when four young women proposed the beginnings of a club that would combine social activities with worthwhile civic and benevolent projects.”

In carrying on with the tradition and founding members’ vision, “The Thursday Club continues to participate in fundraising activities as well as service projects, both large and small. Certainly the most well-known is the Annual Rummage Sale held in Balboa Park every spring…”

Offering half of the proceeds from this rummage sale to several different organizations within Balboa Park, the rest are granted to San Diego community philanthropies!

Recently, The Thursday Club hosted its first Event Open House!

Organized by Chris from The Thursday Club and the fabulous Courtney from Breezy Day Weddings and Florals,

the event was captured by Katherine Beth Photography.

We offered small plates of our Argentinian Grilled Flank Steak with Chimichurri, Grilled Zucchini, and Whipped Purple Peruvian Potatoes.

We so appreciated collaborating with such talented vendors and had a blast meeting with all the excited couples interested in our food!

we have made countless wonderful lasting memories and friendships with The Thursday Club

and look forward to many more years of collaboration ahead!

Gorgeous Lake-Front Wedding in Alpine!

Scott and Catherine found a magical location for their ceremony at Rancho Palo Verde!

Moments in Bloom constructed a stunning floral arbor for the outdoor ceremony

and kept the bouquets clean-cut and classic with a variety of ivory and dusty pink roses.

True Photography dazzled us with these impressive photos of the lake in their background!

The rest of their special day was conducted in the Ballroom of the estate.

Coordination through Always Flawless Productions made setting up so effortless for us.

This happy couple had a beautiful dusty rose linen base accented with warm metallic rose gold and champagne.

Shots of navy blue, like from Scott’s suit, deepened their overall pallet.

For dinner, we provided a wine service so guests had beverages from the deluxe bar to go with their seated meals.

They enjoyed either our Braised Beef Short Ribs in a red wine demi-glace or the Spinach and Mushroom Stuffed Romano Chicken.

Both entrees were served with our buttery Chive Whipped Potatoes, Petite Carrots, and a tender Baby Greens salad with Candied Pecans, Bleu Cheese Crumbles, and Shaved Red Onion.

The cake topper and cupcakes that concluded the night’s official events were from Simply Sifted!

Kelli & Ruben at San Diego Botanical Gardens

We just can not get over this wedding that we had for K + R at the San Diego Botanical Gardens. Let’s just say this day had gorgeous written ALL over it! Every little detail captured our attention. The blooms by AE floral were divinely displayed from the ceremony to the reception, and do not let us forget those luscious bouquets – absolutely jaw dropping! The table settings were perfectly put together with white and Rattan Chargers. Favors of oil and rosemary made a fine compliment for their guests, and just the venue itself called for the perfect setting for everything this couple imagined on their big day.

Thank you, Tim Otto Photography, for capturing this beautiful wedding for M + D! They were joined together by family and friends for a lovely church ceremony as the day ventured over to La Jolla’s Women Club for endless amounts of laughs, dancing, and overall happiness. Decadent food, enchanting floral, and a theme of rustic mixed with seaside elegance made for a perfect detailed day.

Dana & Chris at San Diego Botanic Gardens

Beauty at the San Diego Botanic Gardens for D + C’s big day! They always say October is the best time to get married, and this couple’s wedding lived up to that – the weather, the colors and the greenery from the venue itself made a statement. The ceremony displayed a beautiful arch with soft blush and ivory floral. A touch of blue and lanterns strung on market lights presented for an eye-catching reception, along with gourmet stations for their guests to indulge in. DJ Mike Hogan brought everyone to the dance floor to end a beautiful night. Thank you Meuruer Image Photography for the shots of D + C’s wedding!

Dana and Chris at the San Diego Botanic Garden

We had so much fun celebrating with Dana and Chris at the San Diego Botanic Garden! They had a beautiful ceremony in the walled garden, cocktail hour in the herb garden and reception on the gazebo lawn. The dining tables were covered in white linens with slate blue napkins hanging off the tables. The couple chose colorful tile magnets as cute favors for their guests. This wedding was complete with a fun photo booth, corn hole and delicious mini desserts in the lawn house.

San Diego Botanic Garden Venue Spotlight

This week we’re featuring the San Diego Botanic Garden as one of our favorite wedding venues! This venue is so gorgeous and has so many different locations on site, which gives couples a ton of different options for their wedding. The walled garden is the perfect ceremony site. Couples can choose to have their cocktail hour in the herb garden, lawn house garden, or the gazebo lawn. Then the reception continues with dinner and dancing on the gazebo lawn!
We love the gazebo where couples can put their dessert station, guestbook table, or even a photo booth. See below for some highlights from this stunning venue!

Emily & David at The Ultimate Skybox

Emily and David had such a fun wedding celebration with their friends and family! They started off with a ceremony by the bay and then made their way to the Ultimate Skybox for the reception. Check out their cute wedding photos!

Lauren & Eric at the Darlington House

The Darlington House was the perfect place for Lauren and Eric to say “I do!” They had their ceremony in the Egyptian Patio, followed by cocktail hour in the Andalusian Patio and their reception in the Rose Garden. There were round dining tables in the garden with a long head table, all covered in white linens. Their adorable flower arrangements in mason jars looked great on the white tables with dark fruitwood chairs. Between the flowers, bridesmaid dresses and wood signage, the color scheme of this wedding was so beautiful and matched this venue perfectly!

Ariel & James at La Jolla Woman’s Club

Ariel and James celebrated with their friends and family at the La Jolla Woman’s Club. The ceremony on the lawn was complete with garland hung across the chairs and lavender flower petals placed along the aisle and in the shape of a heart next to the bride and groom. Inside the ballroom, gorgeous flower arrangements and gold votive candles decorated the tables, along with cute cups as favors for the guests. In addition, the market lighting and draping in the ballroom looked absolutely beautiful!
